Mumu's Cafe & Pastry ("Mumu's Cafe," "we," "us") operates this website, our iOS and Android apps, and the online ordering system behind both. This policy explains what information we collect when you order from us, join our rewards program, or sign up for updates, and how we use it. It applies the same way whether you order from the website or from one of our apps.

Information we collect

When you place an order, create an account, or sign up for rewards, we collect your name, phone number, email address (if provided), order details, and order history. We do not collect payment card numbers directly — those are processed securely by Square and never touch our servers.

How we use your information

We use your information to fulfill and communicate about your orders, maintain your rewards balance and order history, verify your identity when you log in to your account (via a one-time SMS code), and — only if you've opted in — send you promotional offers and updates by SMS and/or email. We never sell your personal information to third parties.

SMS messaging terms

By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive text messages from Mumu's Cafe, including order updates, one-time account verification codes, and (if you've opted in to marketing) promotional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of marketing messages, or HELP for help. Account verification codes are sent regardless of marketing opt-in status, since they're required to securely access your own account. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Third-party service providers

We use trusted third parties to operate our service: Square for payment processing, Twilio for SMS delivery, and Resend for email delivery. Each only receives the information necessary to perform their function (e.g., Twilio receives your phone number to deliver a text — it does not receive your order contents). Each of these providers is contractually required to protect the information we share with them to the same standard described in this policy, and none of them is permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Cookies & analytics (website only)

On this website we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our pages (e.g., which ones are popular), which sets cookies in your browser. We only turn this on if you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit — declining keeps Google Analytics off for you. Necessary cookies that keep the site and checkout functioning (like remembering your cart) are used regardless, since they don't involve any third-party tracking.

Our mobile apps are different: they contain no analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind. They don't use an advertising identifier, don't request your location, and don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself at any time — no email or phone call required. In the app, go to Account → Profile → Delete my account; on this website, the same option is at the bottom of the Profile tab in My Account. Deleting removes your account, your rewards balance and credits, your saved name, phone number and email address, any messages you've sent us, and your name on any reviews you've left. Past receipts remain in our records with your personal details removed, because we're required to keep sales records for tax purposes. A gift card you've added keeps its balance and can still be used at the counter with its card number. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone. If you have an order in progress, you'll be asked to wait until it's complete, since we need your details to finish it.

Data retention & your rights

We retain order and account information for as long as needed to provide our service and comply with legal/tax obligations. You can ask us to update or delete your information, or opt out of marketing communications, at any time by contacting us below — or delete your account yourself, as described above.
